Qualifications Responsibilities
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or business development
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven success in meeting sales targets and driving business growth
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong aptitude for working independently and within a team environment
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Must be able to demonstrate, represent and uphold TMSA organizational values in all dealings with members, committees and suppliers: be welcoming, staying up to date on trends, networking across the industry, making an impact to advance the industry, and developing expertise and knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics industry and a passion to serve others through relationship building and networking
  •  Experience selling event sponsorships
  • Develop new sponsorship and membership business in line with sales goals
  • Expand business with current members
  • Build relationships in the broader transportation and logistics market
  • Close deals and negotiate contracts with clients and partners
  • Leverage CRM to manage pipeline, forecast results and keep Executive Director & Board of Directors informed on progress
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and market development

 

Job Description

The Transportation Marketing & Sales Association is currently seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As the primary sales resource for the association, this role will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities (sponsorships and membership) to increase revenue and promote growth.

Note, this is a 1099 role with a monthly retainer in the $5,000 to $6,000 range based on experience, and an uncapped commission opportunity.
