TMSA Tracks FAQ

Your Guide to Finding Your Place, Building Community, and Growing with Purpose in Transportation & Logistics

Q: What are the TMSA Tracks?
A:
TMSA Tracks are role-based professional communities and learning paths designed to help you learn, grow, and connect alongside people who do what you do every day. Instead of one-size-fits-all programming, Tracks bring you into conversations, education, and experiences that match your role, your challenges, and your goals.

Tracks give you clarity.
They give you community.
They give you a professional “home” where people truly get the work you do.

Q: What Tracks are available?
A:
TMSA offers five Tracks that reflect how our industry actually works:

  • Company Leader
  • Marketing Leader
  • Sales Leader
  • Marketing Practitioner
  • Sales Practitioner
Each Track focuses on the skills, conversations, leadership growth, and real-world situations most relevant to that group.

Q: What is a Primary Track vs. a Parallel Track?
A:
Your Primary Track reflects your main role today. It’s the work you do most consistently and the space where you want the strongest development and community.

A Parallel Track is optional and allows you to:

  • Support a secondary responsibility
  • Develop in another discipline
  • Prepare for the next step in your career

Example:
-Someone who oversees both Sales & Marketing may follow both leader tracks.
-A practitioner preparing for leadership may select a Leadership Track as a parallel path.

This gives flexibility without forcing one-size-fits-all growth.

Q: Who are Tracks designed for?
A.
Tracks are designed for professionals in transportation and logistics sales, marketing, and revenue-focused roles who want to grow, lead, and connect in a meaningful professional community.

They’re built for people who want to:

  • Get better at how they market, sell, and communicate value
  • Grow their skills, influence, and impact
  • Build trusted relationships in the industry

Learn alongside peers who understand the realities of commercial growth in logistics
Whether you lead strategy or execute the work, if your world touches revenue, brand, communications, demand, or customer growth, there’s a place for you here.

Q: Why did TMSA create Tracks?
A:
Because members asked for:

  • More relevant, role-specific learning
  • Stronger peer connection
  • Clearer professional identity
  • Community that truly understands their world

A path to grow, not just attend things
Tracks make professional development more intentional, more valuable, and more meaningful.

They also serve:

  • Corporate Members: with role-based learning, stronger engagement, and team development
  • Partner Members: with clearer audience alignment, meaningful sponsorship opportunities, and professional development for their own teams

Q: How do I know which track is right for me?
A:
Evaluate three things:

  • What is your primary role?
  • What level of responsibility do you carry?
  • Where do you most want to grow next?
Simple guideline:
  • Lead people, strategy, or departments? Go to a Leader Track
  • Execute work, build, create, and implement daily? Go to a Practitioner Track

And don’t worry, you truly can’t “choose wrong.” Tracks are built to support you, not restrict you.

If you’d like a deeper look at each Track, who it serves, what you’ll experience, and how to determine your best fit, visit the individual Track pages for a full breakdown and deeper FAQs.

Q: What if my role overlaps multiple areas?
A:
Totally normal. Many roles in logistics do. Choose the Track where:

  • You spend most of your time
  • You want the most growth
The conversations sound most relevant. And if you truly wear multiple hats, you also have the option to select a Parallel Track to support that secondary focus.

You’ll still benefit from cross-track learning and the broader TMSA community, while your Primary (and optional Parallel) Track helps guide your experience.

Q: Once I choose a Track, am I stuck there?
A:
No, tracks are intended to guide your experience, not confine you. You’ll still have access to cross-track programming, broader networking, and shared learning moments.

Q: Will I still get to network outside my Track?
A:
Absolutely, and intentionally. Tracks deepen peer belonging, but TMSA remains one united community. You’ll still connect across:

  • Departments
  • Company types
  • Experience levels
  • Leadership and practitioner roles

You get both: deeper connection and broader community.

Q: Where do HR, Talent, and Recruitment topics fit?
A:
They’re intentionally woven across the Tracks because talent, culture, and people strategy impact every discipline. As those conversations continue to grow, there is room to evolve programming further, but today, they are integrated where they matter most.
